The historic center of Verona is compact and easy to navigate, allowing you to enter very varied historical and artistic areas in just a few steps. During this visit we will also always visit the iconic places, but we will try to penetrate the "shadow zones" that are less explored but so important, and which almost always correspond to moments of transition:

• Roman urbanization that is rooted in much older sacred settings (and pre-Roman "sanctuaries");

• the gradual fall of Roman structures to make way for Christian ones (and the art that adapted to them);

• the rebirth after the earthquake of 1117, with the political and social implications underlying the modern identity of Verona (with the Romanesque style passing the baton between two eras);

• the imperial feeling of Veronese families, which survives from the Ghibelline golden age up to the Risorgimento (and the classic Veronese primacy displayed in art, between pre-humanism and the Renaissance). ​

Ideally, in this type of more in-depth visit, is to select some interiors, among its numerous monuments, churches and museums, to explore calmly, taking the time to better understand this city.
